"I write because the silence gets too loud if you don't answer it. Most of my work lives in the grey areas—between quiet heartbreaks, psychological labyrinths, and conversations that end before they truly begin."
Originally hailing from Lohardaga and now living in Ranchi, my fascination has always been with the human psyche. When writing The Second Mind, I wanted to unravel how fragile reality becomes when our inner shadows take over. Meanwhile, Jo Bichharkar Mila (which began under the working title Aksh) reflects the quieter, more vulnerable side of parting ways and unexpected encounters.
People often assume authors only sit with notebooks and coffee. For me, balance comes from sweat and physical grind. As a Taekwondo practitioner and freestyle wrestling athlete, combat sports taught me patience, instinctive focus, and pain tolerance long before my manuscripts ever saw print. The ring demands the same honesty as an empty sheet of paper.
When words refuse to rhyme and the evening settles in, you'll usually find me picking an acoustic guitar. Music doesn't demand answers the way storytelling does; it just holds space. Living single and focused in Ranchi, late-night chord progressions and raw acoustic rhythms are where most poems quietly take shape.
"Don't write to be remembered forever. Write so that someone feeling alone at two in the morning reads a sentence and whispers, 'so it's not just me.'"— Ankit Ambastha
